VHSC Steamers 05 Black are State Cup Champions!

The ’05 Steamers saved their best performances of the state league season for the 2021 Alabama Soccer Association State Cup this past weekend in Foley.

In the semi-finals the Steamers squared off against ’05 Alabama Rush.  The team took a 1-0 lead into halftime and never looked back with a 3-0 final score.

The team played in their first Finals appearance against ’05 Alabama FC Central the following day.  Once again, the team did not disappoint with excellent team play, scoring 2 first half goals in hard working fashion and both goals with great finishes.  The second half saw a late free kick goal by Alabama FC that found it’s way in the goal off a deflection…making the score 2-1.  Less than 3 minutes later the Steamers earned a foul in the box and converted the penalty kick to make the score 3-1.

Final score 3-1!

’05 VHSC Steamers are crowned State Cup Champions!

Great highlight to the fall season!!

Steamers 03 Black Record Unbeaten Season!

The Steamers 03 Black completed an undefeated season at State Cup this past weekend, finishing with a 10-0 record. In the semi finals, the boys beat Prattville 1-0 after a goal from Kenny Jaimes, before coming from behind against Opelika, to win a very heated state final 2-1.

The goals were scored by Coleman Preskitt and Kenny Jaimes. Throughout the season the boys scored 47 goals and conceded just 5.

Congratulations on a fantastic season!

Steamers 10 Black are Liberty Cup Finalists!

Congratulations Steamers 2010 Black for reaching the finals!!!

After a hard fought weekend which saw the boys battle two competitive teams during pool play. The first game came out as a 3-3 draw against MSC Strikers 2010. The following game, Steamers came out strong with a 4-1 win against 2010 SYSA Storm to finish out pool play.

The championship game followed a good competitive game against Trussville Fire 2010. Both sides played well in a hard fought match! The first half saw Trussville go up 1-0 just before the end of the half. Through the second half Steamers had many chances to make a very exciting game. With 40 seconds left in the game, the Steamers were awarded a free kick. The boys were able to convert on that free kick to tie up the game. This then brought the game to penalty kicks. The game ended in a dramatic shootout which saw Trussville win the championship.

Great job to the boys for a great weekend and a great start to the season!!!

Attack 11 Inter Milan are Liberty Cup Girls Champions!

Attack 11 Inter Milan are the Liberty Cup Champions!  They battled some of the best competition in their history and ended the weekend with 3 wins and a draw.  This marks the group's 4th tournament championship in 5 opportunities.

It was the teams first opportunity to play 9-aside soccer and their success is credited to their development from their hard work.

Players are from various areas of the community, but when they are together, you can see the special bond they have for each other.  These girls are family and they play not only for the love of the game, but for each other.  Keep an eye on this group because their future is bright!

Way to go girls!
