Vestavia Hills Soccer Club partners with STRIVE Birmingham as the 2025 Community Non-Profit Partner. STRIVE, a national leader in workforce development, empowers individuals 18+ with free career training and support, bridging the skills and opportunity gaps for life-changing success. Discover how VHSC and STRIVE work together to empower graduating seniors and strengthen our community.

Coach Jason Howanitz brings over 20 years of youth soccer coaching experience to VHSC. A product of the Birmingham soccer community, Jason grew up playing for various local clubs and at Thompson High School, where his passion for the game began.

Since joining VHSC in 2022, Jason has been a dedicated coach in the Academy of Excellence, focusing on developing young players and fostering their love for soccer. In 2023, he also took on the role of Recreational All-Star Director, where he helps recreational players transition and bridge the gap to competitive soccer within the Academy program.

Jason’s extensive experience and commitment to player growth make him an integral part of the VHSC coaching team.
